Sick!!!

Sick of being treated like a second class citizen because I have chosen to forgo a career in order for my children to have a better childhood and upbringing.

Oh yes, this disease of treating mothers who do not have a career, as second class citizens has reared its ugly head yet again!!!! I've had to endure an incident recently that has infuriated me.

Where do young woman, who call themselves feminists, get off in ignoring the opinions of woman who have made this choice???? How dare they!!!!!!

I have fought hard for women's rights! I have stood up for women when I was the only woman around in a male dominated area!!!!! I am proud to say that I did a great job in raising women's issues to the head of the govt dept that I worked for.

Weren't choices what we fought for????? I fought for woman to have choices!!!!!!

Let me tell you, I am more than just a mother who has chosen to stay at home raising her children. I am that and so much more. Shame that ignorant people think I have no brains and cannot hold a conversation. Shame! Shame! Shame!! on them!!!!

compassion

My sincerest prayer is that my boys learn to show compassion to all people especially those less fortunate than themselves. Please God, they will.

birthdays!

Oh yes, another year has passed since my last birthday. Wow! Where do the years go???? I dare not say out loud exactly how old I really am!!! I certainly don't feel OLD!!!!! And thank goodness for the good genes I inherited from mother that helps me look younger than I really am!!!!!!

I've had a really really lovely day. My beautiful friends turned up on my doorstep (to have a scrapping session with me) and were laden with cakes and gifts. The best part of the day was spending time in their company - laughing and chatting. Oh! They make me laugh! So good for the soul!!! It's no wonder I think that they are extra special gals!!!

I often shake my head in wonder at the wonderful life I have and the wonderful friends I have made. I truly am the most blest person!

Other exciting news - Andrew lost his first tooth today!!! He was pretty excited about it and when I picked him up from school he proudly grinned at me. Trouble was I couldn't see that he'd lost his tooth until he told me. His smile didn't show where the tooth had fallen out. He was very lucky he didn't lose it as he was performing in a dance when the event occured. I guess when you are a little fellow it's important not to lose the tooth when it falls out. Heavens, the tooth fairy may not visit!

Looking good

My kitchen is starting to look good. Not quite finished yet. The tiler will be here on Tuesday, then I need the electrician to come back and fix up one more power point. Then it will be pretty much done. We need to do a little bit of painting but I'm happy to wait for that (as I'd like more than the kitchen painted. ;) sssh)

Because the new kitchen has a slightly different floorplan than the previous one, and the fact that the carpet in the family room is threadbare, I am now in the process of choosing some floorcoverings. I'll go on the hunt for some quotes next week.

Busy week coming up. Our school is having its second forum. At this forum, we intend to start making our ideas happen!! 'Twill be exciting!!!!!!

much better

I'm feeling much better today, although not quite firing on all 8 cylinders. Thank goodness, it's an easy day at home today. I needed it to recover.
Here are the layouts I did for The Scrapbook Establishment:

I only went to Crafting Connection to do classes with Nic. The fact that Stacy Julian and Wendy Smedley also ran classes was just an added extra. I roomed with the lovely Linda who I had met through Every Moment Matters. Jo and Kath were also members from Every Moment Matters and it was great to meet them irl and chat with them also. I also met the very funny Lou and was very grateful that Donna shared her cropadile with me. (I now have one of my own - thoroughly recommend them!)

Now, aren't these two dudes the handsomest looking chaps you've ever seen????? This photo was before they both scoffed the biggest icecream you've ever seen!!!! lol

Earlier in the year, we created a monster!!!!! The boys have always had a bath and Kelvin thought that it was high time they learnt to shower themselves. Andrew took to it like a duck to water!!!!! (sorry about the pun! lol) It wasn't long before we could hear him singing the words "I'm singing in the shower, oh yeah!!!" and each time he sang, he got louder!!!! lol
